Job summary

Intel Corporation in Penang invites applicants for a Facilities Technician Intern role focused on supporting operation, maintenance and repair of building systems to run safely and efficiently.

You will participate in preventative maintenance, troubleshoot failures, and assist with inspections under guidance from experienced technicians, gaining hands-on skills in a real data center/industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of Electrical & Electronics Systems, PLC, Instrumentations.
• Ability to read online electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, metering and testing equipment including multimeter, Megger, etc.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Capacity to work in industrial and data center environments during an 8-hour day shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and preventative maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chillers, and vacuum systems.
• Conduct inspections, troubleshoot failures, and perform routine repairs on building systems with guidance from experienced technicians.
• Support hands-on tasks such as filter replacement, vibration analysis, pump maintenance, and LEV upkeep while adhering to safety protocols.
• Read and interpret technical documents, including drawings, layouts, and maintenance manuals.
• Collaborate with facilities teams to uphold compliance with safety standards and facility maintenance procedures.
• Participate in projects aimed at improving system reliability and energy efficiency.
