Job summary

Flex is seeking a Director of Facilities located in Perai, Penang, to oversee all facilities operations and maintenance at our manufacturing sites. You will lead regional facility teams across Southeast Asia and develop strategies aligned with corporate objectives.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in facilities management (8+ in leadership), a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, and strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, and building automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior facilities management role, preferably in manufacturing
• 8 years in senior leadership roles
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
• Strong communication and manufacturing industry experience in electronics, semiconductor or industrial manufacturing
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, building automation

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop facility teams across Southeast Asia sites

• Ensure safe, reliable operation of all facilities infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, fire systems)
• Review and approve project scopes, budgets, schedules, and contractor selection
• Develop and manage regional facilities OPEX and CAPEX budgets
• Ensure compliance with local laws and corporate policies
• Oversee facility-related audits and inspections
• Develop regional energy reduction roadmap
• Partner with stakeholders and act as regional escalation point for major facility issues

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Director of Facilities located in Perai, Penang.

This is a critical role as the Director of Facilities. You will oversee all facilities operations and maintenance at the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing sites.

What a typical day looks like:

• Lead and develop facility teams across all Southeast Asia sites.

• Establish regional facilities strategy aligned with corporate objectives

• Ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of all facilities infrastructure including: Electrical systems, HV/LV distribution systems, Chillers and HVAC systems, Compressed air systems, Process cooling water systems & Fire protection systems

• Review and approve project scope, budget, schedules, and contractor selection.

• Develop and manage regional facilities OPEX and CAPEX budgets

• Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and corporate policies.

• Oversee facility-related audits and inspections.

• Develop regional energy reduction roadmap

• Partner closely with stakeholders & serve as the regional escalation point for major facility issues

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior facilities management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry and 8 years in senior leadership roles

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines

• Strong communication and strong manufacturing industry experience preferred: Electronics manufacturing, Semiconductor or Industrial manufacturing

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, Electrical distribution systems, Fire systems, Architecture and civil engineering and Building automation systems
