Expression of Interest : R&D Hardware Engineer
We are seeking an R&D Hardware Engineer to design and develop analog and mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and signal processing circuits.
The role involves creating circuit schematics, performing simulations, validating designs, testing, troubleshooting, project management, documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development
- Develop analog and mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and signal processing circuits.
- Create and optimize circuit schematics and layouts using CAD tools.
- Perform simulations and analyses to verify design performance and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Testing and Validation
- Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance and reliability of analog circuits.
- Conduct troubleshooting and debugging of analog hardware to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the test engineering team to design and implement test setups and procedures.
- Project Management
- Participate in project planning, including defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including digital engineers, PCB designers, and software engineers, to ensure cohesive system integration.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Generate detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
- Ensure all designs meet regulatory standards and industry guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in analog circuit design.
- Innovation and Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements in design methodologies and tools.
- Research and propose new technologies and components to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Drive innovation in analog circuit design to create competitive advantages for the company.
Qualifications
- Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Specialized coursework or certifications in analog circuit design is a plus.
- Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in analog circuit design, development, and testing.
- Proven track record of successful analog hardware projects from concept to production.
- Experience with CAD tools such as Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or similar software for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of analog circuit principles, including signal integrity, noise analysis, and power management.
- Proficiency in simulation tools like SPICE for circuit analysis and validation.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as CSA, CE, or similar.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and digital signal processing (DSP) is advantageous.
- Prior experience in industries such as telecommunications, automotive, or consumer electronics is beneficial.
- Experience with power supplies will be an added advantage.
