A regulatory agency for energy is seeking an Executive to support planning and monitoring of transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will develop organizational strategies, analyze business plans, and monitor corporate performance against KPIs. Candidates should possess a relevant Bachelor's degree and at least four years' experience in a strategy-related role, demonstrating strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Proficiency in both Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
Responsible to support the planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of transformation initiatives and corporate performance activities, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and continuous improvement across divisions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in developing short-term and long-term organizational strategy and plans;
Analyze and evaluate internal business plans and suggest creative action plans;
Conduct organizational reviews and evaluations to identify strengths, weaknesses and challenges and to suggest operational effectiveness;
Track industry trends and emerging technologies and develop creative roadmaps;
Assist in coordinating and preparing feedback to inquiries or issues raised by stakeholders;
Coordinate and prepare engagement programs with international stakeholders;
Facilitate and collaborate strategic relationships between Suruhanjaya Tenaga and other international organizations.
Support the development, review, and alignment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure consistency with corporate strategy and organizational objectives.
Monitor, analyze, and report on corporate performance against approved KPIs and strategic targets to support management decision-making and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
Possess a Bachelor Degree in Economics / Business Management / Finance/ Strategic or other related fields of study from university accredited by the Government;
MBA qualification is an added advantage;
Minimum four (4) years’ working experience in Strategy Formulation and Execution, Strategic Planning and Analysis, Corporate Strategy, Business Planning or strategy-related fields.
Strong background in strategic thinking, analytics and problem-solving;
Strong economic and business acumen skills /competencies;
Proactive with strong networking and relationship building skills;
Possess a positive outlook, disciplined and results-oriented;
High level of service orientation and quality driven;
Ability to work under pressure in managing responsibilities;
Excellent command of both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English; and
Experience in energy supply industry will be an added advantage.
A statutory body established under the Energy Commission Act 2001, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) or the Energy Commission is responsible for regulating the energy sector, specifically the electricity and piped gas supply industries, in Peninsular Malaysia.
Taking over the role of the Department of Electricity and Gas Supply, the Energy Commission started its operation on January 1, 2002. The main focus of the commission is reliable electricity and gas supply, reasonable costs and safety.
The roles of the Energy Commission are divided into three, namely Economic Regulation, Technical Regulation and Safety Regulation.
Economic Regulation:
To promote economy in the generation, transmission, distribution, supply and use of electricity and in the reticulation and use of gas; promote competition; enable fair and efficient market conduct and prevent the misuse of monopoly or market power in the electricity and piped gas industries.
Technical Regulation:
To ensure security, reliability, efficiency and quality of supply and services in the electricity and piped gas supply industries.
Safety Regulation:
To protect the industry, consumers and public from dangers arising from the generation, transmission, distribution, supply and use of electricity and the distribution, supply and use of piped gas.
