Executive /Senior Executive, Risk Engineer (Property)

This role is to carry out property risk surveys and desktop reviews, based on the Allianz Group and Company strategy and guidelines, either on site or via remote/virtual method, and subsequently analyze the gathered data/information for reporting process/preparation and providing consultation on risk improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Primary specialization is for medium to large Industrial Class with Total Sum Insured (TSI) /Total Insurable Value (TIV) ≤ RM300m.
  • Cross specialization is the Engineering (Machinery Breakdown) Class / risks.
  • Plan and conduct assigned service/survey orders or other related tasks/projects and deliver quality risk analysis reports, desktop reviews or related responses within a stipulated turnaround time/Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Provide risk review and/or technical risk information gathered from risk surveys and/or risk analysis to Underwriters & Marketers for all assigned jobs via dedicated tool/system.
  • Analyze and perform Probable Maximum Loss (PML) /Maximum Foreseeable Loss (MFL) and/or Estimated Maximum Loss (EML), where necessary according to guidelines, in suggesting Underwriters decide the appropriate company retention.
  • Provide consultation on loss control (Risk Improvement Recommendations - RIR) review or discussion with Underwriters, Marketers and/or for clients of the company.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities relating to department’s function and objectives as may be directed by the superior from time to time.
Qualifications
  • A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Professional certification in related qualifications such as Risk Management and Process Safety will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in property risk survey, focusing more on medium to large Industrial.
  • Good communication and written skills in English. Other languages (e.g. Mandarin) will be an advantage.
  • IT/computer savvy will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes.
  • Possesses own transport with valid driving license.
  • Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot is an added advantage.
