We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Executive / Senior Executive to join our Group Legal team. This role is responsible for protecting the Group's legal interests by providing sound legal advice, minimizing legal risk, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be involved in reviewing and drafting agreements, managing legal documentation, supporting negotiations, and working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely legal advice to business and support units.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate agreements and other legal documents.
  • Monitor legal risks and developments relevant to the Group’s operations.
  • Develop and review internal policies and procedures for legal compliance.
  • Conduct legal training and awareness sessions for staff.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in legal processes.
  • Manage external legal counsel and monitor litigation cases.
Job Requirements
  • Knowledge: Constantly abreast with latest development of the laws, regulations and case laws related to the business and operation of the Group.
  • Training: Raise awareness of the Group’s personnel on legal development and matters by providing training.
  • Policies and Procedures: Draft and/or review the policies and procedures to set the Group’s standards and requirements; and guide the business units and support functions in respect of relevant laws and other legal, compliance and integrity matters.
  • Advice: Provide timely and quality legal advice to business units and support functions.
  • Review of Documents: Review agreements, letters of appointment, undertaking letters, etc. to protect the Group’s interest.
  • Negotiation: Support business units in the participation of negotiation of agreements and legal matters with counterparties.
  • Improvement: Take initiatives to improve the processes of the operation of the department to increase efficiency, accuracy and productivity, such as regular preparation of template agreements for adoption by business units.
  • Management of External Lawyers and Litigation Matters: Manage the performance and cost of external lawyers and monitor cases handled by them.
Job Qualification
  • Qualification and Education: Degree in LAW. Certification in compliance, integrity and/or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) is an added advantage.
  • Experience: 1-3 years working experience in private practice and in-house legal department. Working experience in the field of compliance, integrity, and/or AML is an added advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge / Skills: Possesses an analytical mind, acute business sense as well as good time management, organizing and planning skills. The job holder must be meticulous and diligent in carrying his or her work. Good drafting and computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • People Knowledge / Skills: A team player who is able to work independently with minimal supervision and under a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal, communication skills and proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Agile and has the ability to adapt quickly to the changing environment. Good attitude, responsible & willing to learn.
