About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Executive, Marine Commercial – Conversion & New Building to support the Marine Business Division in securing marine conversion and new building projects from both international and local clients. This role plays a key part in driving revenue growth through competitive bid preparation, commercial analysis, and strong client engagement within a highly competitive marine industry.
Key Responsibilities
Bid Strategy & Proposal Management
- Manage customer enquiries and coordinate closely with internal teams (technical, legal, operations, estimating) to prepare accurate and competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Coordinate technical clarifications, additional scope inputs, and cost data from internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and business partners.
- Consolidate proposal inputs, prepare Profit & Loss analysis, and support internal approvals prior to tender submission.
- Submit compliant and competitive tenders within stipulated timelines to secure new business.
Contract Review & Negotiation
- Support contractual reviews in collaboration with Legal during the bidding phase.
- Assist in evaluating commercial and contractual requirements in line with ITB/ITT/RFQ guidelines.
- Participate in contract clarifications and negotiations with clients when required.
Market & Opportunity Analysis
- Monitor market trends, client requirements, and competitor activities to support bid strategy.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities related to pricing, schedule, and payment terms.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients to enhance business rapport, visibility, and repeat business.
- Strengthen collaboration with business partners and key stakeholders across the marine sector.
Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and update commercial databases, bid records, benchmarks, and proposal templates.
- Capture lessons learned from bids to continuously improve commercial tools and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Management, Marine Studies, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial, bidding, marketing, or business development roles.
- Experience in the marine, oil & gas, or offshore industry is highly preferred.
