Job summary

A construction and engineering company in Seri Iskandar, Malaysia, is seeking a qualified Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional. Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day HSE operational activities, including site visits, weekly/monthly HSE meetings, and implementation of safety programmes.
  • Provide technical HSE support and ensure safe systems of work and safe behavioural practices are implemented across the site.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE statutory requirements (OSHA, DOSH regulations) and track all licence and certification renewals.
  • Support emergency response preparedness and provide basic first aid treatment when required.
  • Develop and review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), risk assessments, and safety assessments to strengthen operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor and service provider HSE performance, ensuring adherence to PPE requirements, OSHA training, and safe work practices.
  • Provide HSE-related inputs for tenders and quotations, including scope of work, bill of quantities, and SLA requirements.
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and site issue reviews; manage incident response, reporting, and escalation to relevant authorities.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, regulatory authorities, and clients to support HSE objectives.
  • Drive continuous personal development and collaborate with HQ/Group HSE, engineering, and project teams to support operational excellence.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline, with minimum DOSH Yellow Book (SSS).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within building, plant, factory, or facility operations.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE statutory requirements (OSHA, regulations, site compliance) and ability to conduct risk assessments, inspections, and HSE reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Office, report writing, and documentation, with good communication skills (BM & English).
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with contractors, authorities, internal stakeholders, and support plant/site operations.
