Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION

Work assigned is not limited to the job scope listed below, may be assigned to another function based on the workload and requirement:

  • Responsible for ensuring organizational data meets the defined quality standards including the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data which supports business objectives
  • Implement data quality standards, monitor data quality metrics, and work with stakeholders from various departments to resolve data quality issues.
  • Play a key role in promoting data quality best practices and supporting data governance initiatives.
  • Provide advisory and guidance to stakeholders on matters related to Data Governance with a focus on Data Quality
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and update the data quality management framework based on best practices
  • Engage Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Consumers to identify critical data elements and define business rules for data quality management
  • Perform data profiling for critical data elements and report the results to Data Stewards Working Group and Data Governance Committee on a regular basis
  • Work closely with Data Owners and Data Stewards to identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis and develop remediation plans to improve data quality level
  • Conduct assessments on the current state of data quality and identify areas for improvement
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the data governance solution including configuring data quality rules, running data profiling and setting up data catalogs
  • Develop, maintain and manage the enterprise data catalog and organization’s metadata, enhancing data accessibility and standardization.
  • Develop Master Data Management strategy by setting the standard in establishing and maintaining a single source of truth for key data entities across various systems
  • Identify, select, set up, and manage Data Governance tools to support the objectives and deliveries of the data governance program
  • Execute key activities related to operationalisation of data governance, operating model, data governance policies & procedures throughout the organisation
  • Coordinate, manage, monitor and report Data Governance projects and initiatives to the relevant committees and forums
  • Prepare and provide relevant Data Governance reports to the management and relevant committees
  • Roll out data governance and data quality change management programs enterprise wide to promote awareness of Data Governance and Data Quality practices
  • Act as the secretariat for the Data Stewards Working Group (DSWG) and Data Governance Committee (DGC), ensuring timely coordination and communication of initiatives and progress.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics or other related qualification which is recognized by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution.
  • Having at least 4 years of relevant experience in areas of data governance, data quality management, data management, data engineering, data security or data analytics
  • Good experience in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Proficient use of enterprise Data Quality tools and platforms for data profiling, monitoring, cleansing, and remediation, along with familiarity in Data Cataloging and Metadata Management systems
  • Proficient in SQL, data modeling and data analysis techniques
  • Good analytical skills, meticulous and able to work independently.
  • Team player with strong communication and good interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented, fast-paced, resourceful and proactive.
  • Resilient and able to deliver under pressure.
  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
