Job summary

A leading shipping company is seeking a dedicated individual for export and import roles in Kuala Lumpur. The candidate will act as the primary contact for customers, handle shipment inquiries, manage bookings, and ensure effective communication with internal teams. A Diploma or Degree in any discipline is required, along with at least 2 years of experience in logistics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential to thrive in this dynamic environment.

EXPORT
Job Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for customers regarding export inquiries and bookings.

Handle booking requests, confirm vessel schedules, and provide service information (as permitted).

Communicate sailing dates, cut-off times, documentation deadlines, and service updates.

Coordinate with internal teams (export operations, documentation, terminal, sales) to ensure smooth shipment flow.

Assist customers with shipping instructions, AMS/ACI/ENS cutoffs, and related front-office guidance (no deep backend paperwork).

Resolve customer issues or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.

Maintain accurate customer communication logs and booking details in company systems.

Support front-office tasks such as answering mainline calls, managing shared inboxes, and assisting walk-in customers.

Foster positive relationships with customers, freight forwarders, and NVOCCs.

IMPORT
Job Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for import customers, consignees, and agents.

Respond to phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

Provide customers with shipment status, arrival notices, vessel schedules, and ETA updates.

Coordinate internally with operations, documentation, and terminal teams to gather accurate information.

Assist customers with releasing cargo, pick-up procedures, and general shipping inquiries.

Handle customer complaints or service issues, escalating to supervisors when needed.

Support front-office tasks (as and when needed) and managing the customer service inbox.

Maintain strong customer relationships and promote a positive image of the company.

Job Requirements

Diploma/Degree in any discipline
