Job summary

A leading telecommunications firm in Malaysia is seeking a Contract Administrator to support tender submissions, contract management, and tenancy-related matters. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma or Degree in a relevant field, have at least 2 years of experience in the construction or telecommunications industry, and demonstrate strong analytical and negotiation skills. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with Malaysian contractual law and safeguarding company interests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Malaysian construction/property/telecommunication industry.
  • Strong understanding of property and/or commercial law.
  • Detail-oriented, meticulous, analytical, and organized individual.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

To support the organization in tender submission, contract administration, and tenancy-related matters by ensuring all contracts are properly reviewed, administered, and complied with in accordance with Malaysian contractual and statutory requirements, while safeguarding the company’s commercial interests.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft and review contracts during negotiation to minimize contractual risks and render commercial and/or legal advice.
  • Commercial management and facilitation of pre and post-tender and contract work, including negotiating and finalizing contracts.
  • Work closely with the project team and undertake contract administration.
  • Advise, negotiate and resolve contract disputes and claims with landlords, subcontractors, customers and local councils.
  • Assist in preparing extension of time, extra cost claims.
  • To administer and advise management on agreement renewal.
  • To assist in stamping process via E‑stamps.
  • Any other duties to be assigned from time to time.
Pre‑requisites
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Law, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Malaysian construction / property / telecommunication industry.
  • Understand property and/or commercial law.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Accounting basic knowledge.
  • A detail‑oriented, meticulous, analytical, pro‑active and organized individual with initiative.
  • A team player with excellent written, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Required written and oral languages: English and Bahasa Malaysia.
