Job summary

A leading technology firm in Kajang is seeking an ESG Compliance Specialist. You will monitor compliance with ESG regulations, coordinate data collection for disclosures, and work with various stakeholders to implement frameworks. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field and 2-3 years of experience in ESG or sustainability. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and passion for sustainability is essential for driving positive change in the organization.

Job description

Monitor and ensure compliance with ESG-related regulations and reporting standards, including Bursa Malaysia's ESG disclosure requirements and international sustainability guidelines.

Coordinate data collection and reporting for ESG disclosures, sustainability reports, and regulatory filings.

Work closely with internal (finance, procurement, HR, etc.) and external (investors, regulators, customers, etc.) stakeholders to implement ESG and risk management frameworks.

Support the company’s decarbonization and resource efficiency initiatives, including energy and waste management programs.

Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and regulatory developments in ESG and sustainability.

Assist in obtaining and maintaining ESG-related certifications and ratings.

Maintain and update the enterprise risk register, ensuring inputs from risk owners are accurate and timely.

Assist in preparing risk dashboards, management reports, and Board-level presentation materials.

Organize and document risk workshops, including minutes, materials, and action points.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or related areas.

Knowledge of ESG frameworks, such as GRI, IFRS, SASB, and UN SDGs.

Familiarity with Malaysia’s National Sustainability Reporting Framework, and other local ESG regulations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret ESG data and trends.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ESG reporting software/tools is an advantage.

Passionate about sustainability and committed to driving positive change within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional ESG certifications (e.g., GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, SASB Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting) are a plus.

Experience in manufacturing, mining, or industrial sectors is preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
