Advanced Energy in Malaysia is seeking an Engineering Planner I to ensure on-time delivery of products through the PDP process, align production plans with schedules, and coordinate with MPM, marketing, sales, and engineering managers.

The role focuses on resolving shortages, implementing production control functions, maintaining BOMs in SAP, and supporting ECOs for NPIs, while adhering to quality and safety practices.

Responsabilités

• Plans, schedules and monitors products through PDP process.
• Coordinates production plans to meet schedules and materials.
• Interfaces with management (MPM, marketing, sales, production, engineering).
• Resolves shortages and backlogs to prevent interruptions.
• Implements production control functions: scheduling, planning, dispatching, WIP tracking.
• Approves quantities and parts lists for timely material issuance.
• Coordinates and implements ECOs in NPIs.
• Analyzes long-lead parts and develops supply solutions.
• Maintains BOMs in SAP and coordinates project schedules.
• Coordinates release of parts to production and material purchases.
• Adheres to quality, health & safety, 5S and confidentiality; other duties as assigned.

Engineering Planner I

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensures 100 percent on-time delivery of products to finished goods as scheduled by AE’s committed shipment date. Improves AE’s ability to meet customer delivery requirements by understanding BU capacity, identifying constraints, and actively reducing lead times (availability) by product. Minimizes AE’s investment in raw and finished material inventory where appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete PDP Process.

2. Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.

3. Provides input to management; schedules and/or interfaces with, material program manager (MPM), marketing, sales, production and engineering managers.

4. Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.

5. Develops and implements the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: master scheduling, production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls, and manufacturing performance reporting.

6. Approves quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements.

7. Coordinates and implements Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in NPI.

8. Analyzes long lead time parts and works with MPM to develop custom supply solutions (e.g. point-of-use material, line-side stocking, kanban, min-max supply, etc.)

9. Coordinate with engineering to create and maintain BOM’s in SAP.

10. Coordinate with the program manager to create and maintain the project schedule.

11. Coordinate the release of parts, modules, and/or units to appropriate department in production.

12. Coordinate material selection process and purchase.

13. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

14. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.

15. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing.

• Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material demand.

• Excellent judgment and initiative, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities.

EXPERIENCE:

• Basic understanding of planning and the processes associated with manufacturing.

• Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment.

• Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility.

• Previous experience with SAP desired or preferred.

• Experience working in a team and group setting with upper level managers.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Computer Information Sciences, or equivalent education and/or experience.

• Prefer American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or CPM certification.
