Job summary

KIRA in Malaysia is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing regional team delivering scalable products used by millions of users across the region. You will guide technical direction and ensure delivery excellence.

You will work closely with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to turn complex problems into reliable solutions, while mentoring engineers and upholding high standards of quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers across frontend, backend and full stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas, ensuring fast, reliable shipping.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to turn problems into execution.
• Drive architecture decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure and customer systems.
• Set standards around code quality, system design, testing, observability, security and reliability.
• Stay close to technical work through architecture reviews, code reviews, debugging and critical decisions.
• Develop engineers through regular feedback, coaching, performance management and clear expectations.
• Identify performance gaps early and raise the team’s engineering bar.
• Improve engineering processes, tooling and automation to move faster and operate at scale.
• Own production outcomes post-release: monitor systems, resolve incidents, root cause analysis.
