Position Summary

The Engineering Manager supports the management of Engineering, Maintenance, and Facility teams to ensure smooth factory operations and machinery performance. This role works closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to drive operational efficiency, implement engineering improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include project planning, budget management, contractor coordination, and maintaining effective engineering systems aligned with company goals.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate with superiors to manage the Engineering, Maintenance, and Facility teams, ensuring alignment with overall scopes and assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Manufacturing, and Plant Managers, as well as advisors, to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the factory and its machinery.
  • Support and coordinate with other departments to achieve the overall objectives related to engineering, facilities, and maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement reasonable instructions to reduce engineering‑related waste.
  • Ensure that effective engineering systems are established and maintained to meet the company's goals and expectations.
  • Propose, plan, manage, and execute strategies, budgets, and engineering projects.
  • Ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of all engineering, facility, and maintenance equipment.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and follow‑up to the engineering, facility, and maintenance teams in addressing engineering issues.
  • Oversee the selection and hiring of contractors, and coordinate with them to support engineering projects and assignments.
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities to ensure legal compliance and fulfill regulatory requirements related to engineering equipment and operations.
Requirement And Qualification
  • Holds a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Japanese, both spoken and written, is preferred to support communication needs in a multilingual work environment.
  • Possesses relevant work experience in a similar role, particularly within the mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrates a strong, mature personality with effective leadership qualities.
  • Willing to travel as required and holds a valid Class D driving license.
  • Additional certifications, such as those related to scheduled waste management or mechanical/electrical fields, will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and safety procedures.

Base Salary: MYR10,000 – MYR12,000 per month
