Job summary

Petronas Ventures is offering an internship for an undergraduate engineering student to participate in plant improvement initiatives. You will collect and analyze data, identify opportunities, and contribute to feasibility studies covering energy efficiency and sustainability.

You will assist in cost-benefit analyses, develop implementation roadmaps, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Sustainability teams to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.
• Interest in process improvement, sustainability, energy management, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data collection, analysis, and benchmarking to identify improvement opportunities in plant operations and supporting processes.
• Assist in evaluating the technical, operational, and economic feasibility of improvement initiatives.
• Support studies related to energy efficiency, resource optimization, waste reduction, decarbonization, and sustainability improvements.
• Perform preliminary cost-benefit analyses and estimate potential value creation from identified opportunities.
• Participate in site assessments, stakeholder discussions, and brainstorming sessions to gather insights and recommend improvement solutions.
• Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, and management updates on improvement projects.
• Assist in tracking project progress, benefits realization, and sustainability performance indicators.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Sustainability focal persons.
• Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and operational excellence practices.
• Experience in feasibility assessment and business case development.
• Understanding of sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in an industrial environment.
• Development of analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
