A manufacturing company is seeking an Engineering Assistant specializing in Mechanical (Welding ARC & TIG) in Selangor, Malaysia. Job description
Engineering Assistant, Mechanical (Welding ARC & TIG)
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all factory production equipment related to mechanical systems is operating in good condition.
  • Be on standby during the workweek and respond promptly to calls from the Head of Department (HOD) or Engineering Supervisor.
  • Remain on standby during shift work and report directly to the HOD, Engineering Supervisor, or Production Supervisors in the event of equipment malfunction or necessary adjustments.
  • Assist the wireman during equipment repair works when required.
  • Report any abnormalities or irregularities in factory equipment to the HOD or Engineering Supervisor for immediate corrective action.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment used for maintenance and repair work are cleaned and returned to their designated storage areas upon task completion.
  • Strictly adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), and uphold plant and personal hygiene standards in compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP, and AGPRM requirements.
  • Actively participate in and support Quality and Food Safety Culture programs, including communication, training, feedback, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Preferably a minimum of 1–2 years of working experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Skilled in both ARC and TIG welding (proficiency in both is an added advantage).
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
  • A fast learner and able to work in rotating shifts.
