Job summary

Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Engineer, Wells Integrity Management to lead planning, engineering, contracting and execution of well integrity programs. You will drive safe, properly engineered activities aligned with approved work programmes and HSE requirements.

The role covers diagnostics, remediation, and repair solutions, plus coordination with operations, service partners and contractors to optimize performance and lifecycle costs.

Qualifications

• Possess a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in an Engineering discipline, preferably Petroleum Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university or academic institution.
• Candidates without a degree may be considered as an exception, provided they possess substantial relevant industry experience and have completed appropriate technical or professional training.
• Possess two (2) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with substantial exposure to offshore operations and a primary focus on Well Integrity, Wellhead Technology, Well Intervention, Well Completion, Well Remedial and/or Well Stimulation activities.
• Knowledge and experience in Drilling, Well Workover and Well Plug & Abandonment (P&A) activities would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage Well Integrity activities by providing technical guidance for preventive and corrective maintenance of safety-critical well equipment, ensuring activities are properly engineered, risk assessed and executed safely in accordance with approved work programmes and HSE requirements.
• Provide technical engineering support for well diagnostics, integrity issues, remediation and repair solutions, including evaluating available data and recommending technically feasible, fit-for-purpose and cost-effective solutions.
• Plan and coordinate Well Integrity and Well Intervention activities, working closely with Operations, RSO and other internal stakeholders to prioritise activities, conduct technical reviews and ensure effective execution of the approved programme.
• Evaluate and implement new well technologies and alternative solutions to improve well integrity, enhance production, optimise operational performance and reduce overall lifecycle costs.
• Lead coordination with technical service partners and contractors, including technical evaluation of proposals, resource and equipment planning, execution support and performance monitoring.
• Manage Well Integrity contracts and expenditure, including contracting strategy, tender evaluation, purchase requests/orders, job costing, invoice verification, accruals and monitoring of activities against approved budgets and work programmes.
• Ensure compliance with Well Integrity Management System requirements, including documentation, annulus monitoring and testing, management of dispensations, audit requirements and appropriate reporting of unwanted events and NPT.
• Support offshore assignments, including operational supervision, technical support and HSE visits, as required. Prepare and participate/presenting as Company representative (if assign) for any technical workshop / Paper presentation / exhibition and etc (internally and externally).

The Engineer, Well Integrity Management reports directly to Senior Manager, Well Intervention & Well Integrity and is responsible:

• For all the well work activities planning, engineering, contracting, material management, programming, execution & evaluation of well integrity management programs.
• In ensuring safe execution, properly engineered, planned and risk assessed all well integrity management activities and compliances as per approved WPB.
