Job summary

A leading materials engineering company located in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is seeking a candidate to lead New Product Introduction and oversee process management. The role involves conducting research and development on materials, managing projects, and resolving issues related to metal fabrication processes. Job description

Responsible for New Product Introduction, process transfer, qualification of new production equipment/machine and conducting First Article Report

Conduct research and development materials projects, as well as design experiments for investigation into root causes of materials issues and resolve the issues.

To provide process support for metal fabrication and consolidation by Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM), heat treatment, machining and all their related processes.

Responsible for input required to prepare process related documents such as, but not limited to process travelers, specific work instructions, process procedures & specifications and actual process performance.

Investigate process and quality problems and implement immediate short term fixes and long term solutions.

Identify, define and implement other process improvement projects, including but not limited to quality improvements, cost reductions, capacity increases and material handling equipment and methods.

Maintain process instructions, procedures and documentation.

Interface with customer and engineering support group in headquarter with regard to product changes and evaluate impact to manufacturing operation.

Participate in meeting with customer and other Oryx supporting group.

Responsible to design and buy-off new equipment/ production tools for VIM process.

Responsible as project management leader to oversee the overall project management of New Product Introduction (NPI), generate milestone Gantt chart, identify risk of project and maintenance of existing program to meet customer’s requirements and expectations.

Perform other related tasks as needed.

Requirements:

Candidates must possess a Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.

Candidates with a Master Degree in the similar discipline studies or/and high academic achiever will be added advantage.

Experience in metal materials, ceramic materials, powder materials, materials processes or materials failure analyses will be an added advantage.

Preferable 1-3 years working experience under the manufacturing environment.

Fresh graduate are encourage to apply with good academic achievement in relevant studies.
