Overview
What’s The Role
Shell’s Well Reservoir Facilities Management (WRFM) is central to maximizing asset value through integrated expertise across wells, reservoirs, and facilities. It focuses on well integrity, surveillance, optimization, interventions, and debottlenecking to drive performance throughout the asset lifecycle.
As Engineer – Process Data SSW, reporting to the Sr Team Lead – WRFM Factory, you’ll be part of a global team implementing standardized WRFM workflows. Your work will support Shell’s ambition to deliver routine WRFM efficiently and free up expert capacity for complex challenges—closing the gap to potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Engineer – Process Data SSW (FEL vertical), you will:
- Lead WRFM Factory Workflow Deployment: Implement WRFM Factory workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in alignment with the agreed Terms of Reference and Implementation Plan. Initial focus is on Shell Malaysia Upstream, with potential to scale success across global assets.
- Deliver High-Quality WRFM Outputs: Execute SOPs for Well Integrity (WI), Exception-Based Surveillance (EBS), Opportunity Identification (OI), and Integrated Production System Modelling (IPSM). Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary asset teams including Production Technology, Wells Engineering, Process Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, and Operations.
- Manage Well Integrity: Ensure surveillance and maintenance of Safety Critical Elements for assigned wells, in compliance with Shell Group and local standards.
- Drive Performance Improvements: Identify and implement initiatives that enhance WRFM Factory delivery, focusing on standardization and best practice replication to achieve top-quartile performance.
- Support Functional Enhancements: Contribute to broader WRFM and SSW functional improvement efforts.
What You Bring
- With relevant experience in Petroleum Engineering, with a strong focus on well and reservoir management and well intervention design.
- Proven ability to independently implement at least one WRFM Factory workflow, such as:
- Well Integrity (WI)
- Exception-Based Surveillance (EBS)
- Opportunity Identification (OI)
- Integrated Production System Modelling (IPSM)
- Familiarity with the remaining WRFM workflows is a plus.
- Solid understanding of reservoir engineering principles is an advantage.
- Skilled in data analytics and interpretation, with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience working in large, multidisciplinary teams, coordinating activities across functions.
- Good grasp of technical risks and challenges associated with assigned workflows.
- Knowledge of integrated gas systems, gas contracts, and gas field planning is beneficial.
- Demonstrated track record of disciplined delivery through structured planning, execution, documentation, and follow-up.
- A strong team player—able to challenge constructively and support others.
- Actively support the TAS WRFM Factory project lead in stakeholder engagements.
- Contribute to WRFM Factory capability development by participating in learning sessions, coaching, and bootcamps.
