Job Summary

Role

1.1 Responsible for mechanical component development.

1.2 Owner of the mechanical component design with maturity within framework of BES-PE.

1.3 Contribution to innovation in platform and technology development.

Job Scope

2.1 Work with system engineer to provide mechanical solution/improvement in new/existing product.

  • Align with system engineer the SRS, especially the SRS for mechanical components/subsystem.
  • Derive mechanical design concepts from requirement, evaluate alternative solutions, and document design decisions.
  • Optimize mechanical design considering component manufacturing process and tool assembly process.

2.2 Evaluate, verify and improve design risks and failures related to mechanical domain via FMEA, risk assessment, PSS, DFMA, etc.

  • Familiar with product safety and legal requirement, especially mechanical domain related, document the assessment to prove the fulfilment.
  • Drive the design iteration loop for mechanical domain, i.e. design, prototyping, verification.

2.3 Create and maintain drawings (2D & 3D) with CAD system, part lists (BOM), Technical document (PQA, tol.stack, etc).

  • Define PQA, especially the special characteristic acc. to function requirement and tolerance calculation.
  • Set up 3D&2D and BOM data correctly into related system, follow up and release the mechanical components in SAP.

2.4 Prepare functional cost analysis for products, analyze the gap and provide proposal.

2.5 Ensure intellectual property protection by timely filing of invention reports and patent check.

2.6 Coach Junior Engineering members in project team.

2.7 Support gearbox platform development align to business strategy.

2.8 Support and take over special tasks on as assigned by the superior.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or above in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in new product development process and the tools/processes used.
  • Design for consumer goods or household appliances. Related areas are automotive and industrial applications.
  • Mechanical engineering experience, expertise level to design at least one major type of mechanical part (e.g. plastic housing, gear, etc).
  • Exposure to the manufacturing process of various components, especially for plastic and metal parts.
  • Basic understanding on PCBA and motor manufacturing process would be a plus.
  • Experience in patent search and filing
  • Transfer of technical requirements into a design solution by applying a systematic approach
  • Understanding cause-effect relationships of technical details
  • Outstanding skills and abilities in field of competence
  • Successful participation in BES-PE training
  • Application of GIS, ANDI system
  • Advanced user of Creo CAD system
  • Experience of other relevant software tools for mechanical calculation, e.g. Kiss-soft
  • SAP basic user
