Job summary

TENPOWER MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking an Engineer, Information Technology (Software) to join our Banting-based engineering team. You will design, develop and maintain software solutions that meet client needs, using modern technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT.
• Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL).
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Understanding of testing, CI/CD and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test software applications and systems using appropriate languages and development frameworks.
• Write clean, efficient and well-documented code adhering to coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to teammates.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software defects and performance issues promptly.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Maintain and enhance existing software systems, implementing improvements and updates as required.
• Document technical specifications, system architecture and development processes for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in continuous integration and deployment processes to ensure efficient delivery.

About the role

We are seeking an Engineer, Information Technology (Software) to join our dynamic engineering team based in Banting, Selangor. Key responsibilities

Design, develop and test software applications and systems using appropriate programming languages and development frameworks

Write clean, efficient and well-documented code that adheres to established coding standards and best practices

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality

Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner

Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns and best practices

Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and NoSQL technologies

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows

Knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience writing unit tests and test cases

Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical challenges and develop practical solutions

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

Experience with web development frameworks or mobile application development is advantageous

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform is a plus

Experience with agile development methodologies and tools is preferred
