Job description

Engineer - Facility (Raw Water Treatment Plant)

Plan and oversee daily RWP operations to achieve water quality, production, and cost targets while ensuring continuous and reliable supply.

Maintenance Execution

Approve and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to sustain optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Performance Analysis

Review operational efficiency, downtime, and chemical consumption trends to identify improvement opportunities.

Project Implementation

Lead RWP projects including capacity expansion, process improvement, and automation initiatives from design to commissioning.

Engineering & Technical Review

Prepare technical specifications, evaluate vendor proposals, and ensure project deliverables meet engineering and quality standards.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure adherence to MOH, DOSH, DOE, and ISO (14001, 45001, 9001) requirements; prepare statutory reports and lead audit engagements.

Budget & Cost Control

Develop and manage RWP operational budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost‑saving measures.

Team Development

Provide technical guidance and leadership to Supervisors and Technicians, promoting skills development and a safety‑first culture.

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective project delivery and plant performance.

Prepare monthly operational reports and recommend actions to improve reliability, efficiency, and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or any related field.

Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in water treatment plant or utility operations or fresh graduates.

Technical and Professional Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, chemical dosing systems, and plant automation.
• Understanding of mechanical/electrical maintenance and laboratory operations.
• Familiarity with ISO management systems, statutory requirements, and project management.
• Proficient in SCADA systems, CMMS, and engineering analysis tools.

Certification / License Requirement

• Registered Energy Manager by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an advantage.
