Job summary

A leading Asset Management company in Malaysia is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to oversee maintenance and repair of biomedical and endoscopy equipment. You will manage both scheduled and emergency maintenance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and has 1–3 years of hospital support services experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in hospital support services.
  • Possess a valid Certificate of Competency from the relevant manufacturer.
  • Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT).

Job description
  • Carry out maintenance, testing, commissioning, repair, and disposal of assigned biomedical and endoscopy equipment.
  • Manage scheduled and breakdown maintenance to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and available for use.
  • Support user training and provide basic technical advice to clinical staff when required.
  • Coordinate with vendors for servicing, warranty claims, spare parts, and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and statutory requirements (e.g. ISO, DOSH).
  • Participate in safety, quality, and risk management activities, including recalls and hazard alerts.
  • Support HSSE and continuous improvement initiatives at site level.
  • Monitor operational costs and support cost-control initiatives in line with KPIs.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal teams, hospitals, vendors, and regulators.
  • Prepare and update reports and records such as asset registers, maintenance logs, training records, and system updates (e.g. ASIS).
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in hospital support services.
  • Possess a valid Certificate of Competency from the relevant manufacturer and registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT).
  • Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving, decision‑making, and negotiation skills.
