WD's KL COE Office in Malaysia seeks an Engineer, Analytical & Characterization Engineering to support characterization tests for firmware and engineering changes. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CE/EE/CS or equivalent.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic programming: Python, C/C++ or scripting.
• Familiarity with Linux and data analysis tools such as Excel or MATLAB.
• Interest in automation or AI-assisted tooling.

Responsibilities

• Support characterization tests for engineering changes and qualifications.
• Execute tests and document observations beyond pass/fail.
• Monitor tests for anomalies and interruptions.
• Analyze results and provide engineering recommendations.

Supports characterization and validation testing activities by executing test procedures,collecting engineering data,performing data analysis,assisting indebugging and failure analysis.Appliesvalidationmethodologies and tools to support product qualification and reliability assessment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supportcharacterization test forengineering changes, firmware/ code, andengineering changes qualification
• Execute tests with understanding of purpose and capture meaningful observations and failure context beyond pass/fail results
• Monitor running tests andidentifyabnormal behaviors or interruptions
• Analyzetest results,performfailure analysis,and provide engineeringrecommendations
• Highlight anomalies and elevate potential quality concerns
• Support failure analysis and root-cause investigation with guidance from senior staff.
• Maintainand updatetest scripts and methodologies under guidance
• Follow test methodologies, checklists, and quality standards
• Track assigned tasks and report status to team members
• Support factory or customer issue investigation as assigned
• Develop tools/script for test process improvement
• Participate in training and continuously develop technical skills

REQUIRED :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• Fresh graduate or ≤2 years relevant experience

PREFERRED:

• Basic programming knowledge (Python, C/C++, or scripting)
• Familiarity with Linux environment is an advantage
• Exposure todata analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, Power BI, etc.)
• Interest in automation or AI-assisted engineering tools
