Electrical Engineer/ Senior Electrical Engineer (6-months contract)

Job Description

Prepare electrical engineering deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Load Schedules, Motor Control Schedules, Cable Schedules, Cable Routing Drawings, Power & Control Drawings, Area Classification Drawings, and Grounding Drawings.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant international electrical codes and standards.

Carry out electrical design work from engineering development through to site construction supervision.

Support project engineering activities, including preparing electrical inquiry documents, conducting technical and commercial bid evaluations, preparing MTOs and cost estimates, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical equipment such as transformers, HV & LV switchgear, MCCs, motors, UPS, LCS, and communication equipment.

Perform essential electrical calculations, including cable sizing/voltage drop calculations and short‑circuit studies.

Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., Mechanical, Instrumentation) and review their equipment packages, specifications, and datasheets for alignment.

Deliver electrical design and engineering work efficiently and within project timelines during both proposal and execution stages.

Develop engineering design work based on project requirements and collaborate closely with other internal departments.

Prepare pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures and provide support during commissioning activities.

Provide construction support and site supervision as required (duration varies depending on project needs).

Assist procurement activities by preparing datasheets, evaluating vendor quotations, and preparing bid tabulations.

Job Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 4 years of working experience in PETRONAS projects.

Willing to travel to Johor for site supervision when required.

Willing to work overtime as needed.

Proven ability to prepare a comprehensive range of electrical engineering deliverables.

Strong knowledge of international electrical design codes and standards.

Experience in Project Engineering, with hands‑on involvement in electrical design work through to construction, including site supervision.

Familiarity with major electrical and communication equipment, as well as relevant industry practices and requirements.

Ability to perform essential electrical engineering calculations.

Compensation

6-months renewable contract (subject to project availability)

Working Location: 3-5 mins walking distance from Monorail Bukit Nanas

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm/ 9am - 6pm.

Annual leave: 12 days (pro‑rated)

Medical leave: 14 days
