Job summary

DayOne Data Center is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee electrical infrastructure and systems across hyperscale facilities. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation 24/7, while driving continuous improvement and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure (PDUs, UPS, generators, switchgear).
• Proven experience managing technical teams and 24/7 operations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or similar certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical systems within the data centers.
• Ensure electrical infrastructure (PDUs, UPS, generators, switchgear) runs reliably and safely.
• Implement and maintain electrical safety policies and procedures.
• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians for 24/7 operations.
• Coordinate with shifts and ensure seamless handovers and training.
• Support strategic initiatives and budget planning for electrical infrastructure.

POSITIONOVERVIEW

ReportingtotheElectricalEngineeringManageroverseestheelectricalinfrastructureandsystemsofourhyperscaledatacentres.Thisroleensuresthecontinuousandefficientoperationofelectricalsystems,upholdshighsafetyandcompliancestandards,andsupportstheCriticalServicesManagerinstrategicinitiatives.Thesuccessfulcandidatewillleadandmentorateamofelectricalengineers,newgradsandtechnicians,ensuringthedeliveryofcriticalelectricalservices24/7.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ElectricalSystemManagement:

Overseethedesign,installation,operation,andmaintenanceofelectricalsystemswithinthedatacentres.

Ensureallelectricalinfrastructure,includingpowerdistributionunits(PDUs),uninterruptiblepowersupplies(UPS),generators,andswitchgear,operatesreliablyandefficiently.

Implementandmaintainelectricalsafetypolicies,procedures,andbestpractices.

Lead,mentor,anddevelopateamofelectricalengineersandtechnicians,fosteringacultureofexcellenceandcontinuousimprovement.

Coordinatewithshiftteamstoensureseamless24/7coverageandeffectivehandoversbetweenshifts.

Conductregulartrainingsessionsandperformanceevaluationstoenhanceteamcapabilitiesandproductivity

MaintenanceandUpgrades:

Planandoverseepreventativeandcorrectivemaintenanceactivities,ensuringallelectricalequipmentandsystemsareservicedaccordingtomanufacturerandcompanystandards.

Coordinatewithvendorsandcontractorsforelectricalmaintenanceandupgradeprojects,ensuringminimalimpactonoperations.

SafetyandCompliance:

Ensureallelectricaloperationscomplywithrelevanthealth,safety,andenvironmentalregulations.

Maintainup-to-datedocumentationandrecordstosupportcomplianceauditsandcertifications.

TechnicalSupport:

Providetechnicalexpertiseandsupportforelectricalsystems,includingtroubleshootingandresolvingcomplexelectricalissues.

Collaboratewithotherengineeringandoperationsteamstoensureintegratedandefficientsystemperformance.

StrategicInitiatives:

SupporttheElectrical EngineeringManagerindevelopingandimplementingstrategicinitiativestoenhanceelectricalsystemperformanceandsupportbusinessgrowth.

Participateinbudgetplanningandcostmanagementactivitiestoensureoperationalefficiencyandfinancialperformance.

CANDIDATEREQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’sdegreeinElectricalEngineeringorarelatedfield.

Minimumof3-5yearsofexperienceinelectricalengineering.

Strongknowledgeofdatacentreelectricalinfrastructure,includingpowerdistribution,UPSsystems,generators,andswitchgear.

Provenexperienceinmanagingtechnicalteamsand24/7operations.

Excellentproblem-solvingskillsandtheabilitytomanagecomplexelectricalchallenges.

Strongcommunicationandinterpersonalskills,withtheabilitytocollaborateeffectivelywithinternalandexternalstakeholders.
