Job summary

A leading environmental management company in Kulim, Malaysia is seeking a technician to manage industrial waste. The ideal candidate will hold a diploma in Environmental Science or a related field and have 1-2 years' experience in waste management. Qualifications

Job description

To monitor, assist and carry out service and maintenance activities for Industrial Waste(Schedule Waste, Solid Waste and Recyclable Waste).

Coordinate with each factory to carry out weighing and receiving of solid and hazardous waste, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Inspect the packaging integrity of solid and hazardous waste during receiving, and request the responsible department to replace any packaging at risk of damage.

Operate professional handling equipment, such as forklifts and hand pallet trucks, to place solid and hazardous waste in designated areas, following safety procedures during operation.

Label all types of solid and hazardous waste clearly and in compliance with regulations, indicating waste name, category, generation date, etc.

Coordinate with licensed disposal units for weighing and dispatch of solid and hazardous waste, including recording vehicle entry and exit weights; accurately document each dispatch with destination, quantity, date, and other details, ensuring proper management and handling of stored waste.

Conduct daily inspections of the solid and hazardous waste warehouse, checking storage area conditions such as temperature and ventilation to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Inspect storage containers for sealing and integrity, checking for any leakage or damage; record and arrange for repairs promptly when issues are found.

Job Requirements:

Diploma in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field.

Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in waste or environmental management in a manufacturing setup.

Knowledge of Scheduled Waste Regulations, DOE licensing process, and ISO 14001 is required.

Good communication and coordination skills with internal departments and external vendors.
