Job summary
A leading safety and health management company in Penang is seeking an EHS Officer. Responsibilities include conducting EHS inspections, supporting compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating training sessions. The ideal candidate will hold a Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related fields and possess strong organizational and communication skills. This position is located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
- EHS-related experience or relevant internships are acceptable.
- Familiarity with OSHA 1994 and Malaysian regulations.

Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly and monthly EHS inspections (first aid boxes, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire hydrant, pest control, workplace conditions, etc.).
- Support compliance documentation and record-keeping in line with Occupational Safety and Health Act, Environmental regulations, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
- Coordinate Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities including fire drills, first aid response, chemical spill management and related programs.
- Assist in incident, accident, near miss and imminent harm reporting, EHS inspections and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Support Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) management and enforce mandatory usage.
- Coordinate and schedule EHS-related training sessions such as Chemical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training, Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics and Legal Compliance.
- Assist in risk assessments (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Risk Control, Ergonomic Risk Assessment, Noise Risk Assessment, Chemical Health Risk Assessment) and monitor implementation of recommendations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities such as BOMBA (Fire & Rescue Department), DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health), DOE (Department of Environment), KKM (Ministry of Health) and other relevant agencies for inspections, permits, audits and compliance matters.
- Assist in contractor EHS compliance, including work permit issuance, safety briefing and site safety monitoring.
- Support the implementation of the Medical Surveillance Program and audiometric testing in compliance with DOSH requirements.
- Any other duties assigned by superior.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or related field.
- EHS-related experience (fresh graduates with relevant internships may be considered).
- Familiarity with OSHA 1994, Environmental Quality Act, and other Malaysian regulations.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (HIRARC, CHRA, ERA, NRA)
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, reporting and problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills for liaison with interbal teams and external authorities.
- Willing to work in Bukit Minyak, Penang.
