Job summary

A leading waste management solutions provider in Penang is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead Corporate Compliance, EHS, and Risk Control strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least 8 years of experience in EHS compliance and risk management. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with ISO standards and overseeing audits. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. Job description
Responsibilities

Lead and manage Corporate Compliance, EHS & Risk Control strategies and operations.

Ensure compliance with ISO standards, DOE/DOSH laws, TAPA, RBA, and ESG frameworks.

Oversee internal/external audits, authority inspections, and certification assessments.

Develop and approve compliance policies, SOPs, ERM frameworks, and strategic plans.

Lead ESG initiatives and sustainability reporting.

Review and approve KPIs, compliance metrics, and departmental performance.

Govern corporate-level incident investigations and CAPA effectiveness.

Establish and monitor enterprise-wide risk assessments.

Oversee emergency response, BCP, and security risk control.

Represent the organization during authority and customer engagements.

Report compliance, risk, and sustainability performance to senior leadership.

Drive a culture of accountability, compliance, and sustainability across operations.

Job Authority

Approve and enforce Corporate Compliance, EHS, and Risk Control policies and governance.

Suspend or stop unsafe or non-compliant activities.

Authorise corrective and preventive actions and risk controls.

Endorse compliance and audit reports.

Decide on training needs and awareness programs.

Recommend disciplinary actions for major non-compliances.

Represent the company in authority/customer meetings.

Approve risk assessments, documentation, and SOP revisions.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Management of Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering Management or equivalent.

Minimum 8 years of experience in EHS, compliance, or risk management.

Strong knowledge of regulatory requirement (DOE/DOSH/BOMBA acts), ISO 9001/14001/45001/50001, ESG frameworks.

Experienced in managing audits including ISO, DOE/DOSH, TAPA, and RBA.

Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and governance skills.

Strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Chinese is an advantage).

High integrity, analytical abilities, and resilience in fast-paced environments.
