Job summary

A leading manufacturer in Iskandar Puteri is seeking an EHS Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and lead workplace safety programs. Responsibilities include overseeing environmental monitoring, managing chemical waste, and conducting safety training. Applicants must have relevant qualifications and experience in the manufacturing sector. This role offers a competitive salary up to RM12k.

Qualifications

  • DOSH-registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) is mandatory.
  • Green book Holder is highly preferable.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of EHS or Safety role experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, Factory and Machinery Act 1967, and Environmental Quality Act 1974.
  • Manage factory waste storage, labeling, transfer, and disposal according to CEPSWAM regulations.
  • Oversee monitoring of air emissions, wastewater, and noise levels.
  • Control chemical usage, labeling, and storage to meet safety standards.
  • Monitor PPE and gloves usage in hazardous zones.
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain HIRARC documentation.
  • Plan EHS awareness programs, fire drills, and emergency simulations.

Skills

Regulatory Knowledge: OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, EQA 1974, DOSH & DOE guidelines
Technical Skills: HIRARC, incident investigation, PPE evaluation, ERT training
Soft Skills: Communication, coordination, leadership, report writing
Digital Tools: MS Office, DOE e-reporting system, safety inspection apps

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
