Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking a Tax Accountant for their Kuala Lumpur office. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax provisions, assisting in tax reporting processes, and collaborating with international teams. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and preferably have 2-3 years of experience in tax accounting within a multinational corporation. Strong knowledge of IAS 12 and ASC 740 is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax provision software.

Work you’ll do
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly and annual income tax provisions by IAS 12 and ASC 740.
  • Assist with global and regional tax reporting processes, including deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate analysis, and reconciliation of tax accounts.
  • Collaborate with member firms across jurisdictions to coordinate large‑scale engagements, ensuring adherence to established governance protocols.
  • Maintain and improve tax reporting processes, controls, and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and accounting standards and assess their impact on the company’s financial reporting.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in tax accounting or tax reporting, preferably in a multinational corporation or Big 4 firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of IAS 12 and ASC 740.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource, Longview, CorpTax) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
