Work you’ll do
  • Preparing tax returns for employers and individuals to ensure tax compliance reporting from Malaysian employment tax/ personal income tax perspective.
  • Drafting of correspondences for engagement team’s liaison with clients and individuals to gather necessary information for the purpose of tax reporting.
  • Where required and under guidance of engagement team, to liaise with the clients and individuals on various information/ documents required to perform tax reporting.
  • Where required and under guidance of engagement team, to liaise with the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (IRB) on various administrative procedures, including but not limited to following up on tax filing/ appeal status, tax refund status etc.
  • Handling of various administrative tasks relating to the management of engagement, including but not limited to conducting background and risk check, tracking of engagement status via various technology tools, drafting of bills, etc.
  • Working closely with engagement team to ensure timely delivery of daily tasks.
  • Conducting research to gain understanding on employment tax related matters and to apply knowledge in day-to-day work. Stay updated on changes in tax laws to ensure compliance.
  • Where required and under guidance of engagement team, to conduct entry/exit tax briefing with expatriates.
  • Any other ad hoc matters where necessary.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related disciplines such as Accounting/Finance or Professional Qualification.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work with speed and accuracy.
  • Possess good organizational skills and able to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • A strong team player and willing to share responsibilities as a team.
  • Candidates with previous individual tax compliance work experience will have an added advantage.
