Job Summary:

The Drafting Engineer will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and modifying technical drawings to support our engineering and production teams. In addition, the candidate will be tasked with developing and maintaining a design library using programming to automate and optimize the drafting process. This role requires strong CAD skills, technical knowledge, and a good understanding of programming to develop customized solutions for design efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and modify detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for various projects, including pressure vessels, screw conveyors, storage tanks, and other equipment.

Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.

Develop and maintain a design library to standardize components, templates, and frequently used elements.

Use programming to automate drafting tasks, improve efficiency, and ensure consistency in design output.

Work with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.

Update and manage documentation for all drawing files, ensuring that they are organized and accessible.

Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure adherence to company standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.

Provide technical support to the engineering and production teams regarding drawing-related inquiries.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve drafting processes through programming and automation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting, with a focus on mechanical or industrial design. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor.

Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, VBA, or other relevant languages) to develop and automate design libraries.

Experience in developing parametric design libraries is a strong plus.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME codes is a plus.
