Job description
Division CFO, Trilogy (Remote) - $400,000/year USD

Add expected salary to your profile for insights

You didn't build your expertise in PE, IB, or Big 4 M&A to spend your days validating budgets and rubber-stamping slide decks. You’re here to design, challenge, and propel — transforming ambiguous strategy into rock-solid execution roadmaps, not multi-year projections that gather dust. You've honed the discipline of financial modeling in high-pressure environments. Now you want to apply that expertise where it drives real operating decisions, not just deal documents. This role delivers exactly that.

Trilogy seeks a finance strategist with operational instincts and dealmaker precision: someone who excels amid uncertainty, takes ownership of results, and uses AI as a force multiplier. You'll collaborate directly with founders and senior leaders to define the trajectory of SaaS or education businesses, creating the financial infrastructure and investment logic that enable intelligent scaling, not wasteful growth.

If your ideal workweek involves dissecting a fragile business case, reconstructing it with phased objectives and metric-driven checkpoints, and delivering a memo that commands executive attention, you belong here.

You won’t oversee 30-person departments. You won’t enforce budget compliance. You won’t wait years to see results. You’ll craft strategy with velocity, discipline, and AI-augmented rigor, and your contributions will redirect the course of ventures reshaping industries.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Constructing and maintaining integrated 3-statement models with transparent driver assumptions, ERP data integration, and AI‑powered scenario analysis.
  • Delivering comprehensive investment packages — financial models, sensitivity frameworks, and board‑grade narratives — within 72 hours.
  • Stress‑testing CAC, retention, pricing, utilization, and similar variables to uncover clarity and identify critical assumptions.
  • Transforming weak business plans into structured, trackable execution frameworks with metric‑based safeguards.
  • Managing and continuously improving dynamic financial systems that enable real‑time decision‑making across SaaS and education assets.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Managing month‑end close, audit processes, or compliance tasks — this is not a controller or FP&A management position.
  • Building or coaching large teams — you influence through deliverables, not staff size.
  • Producing presentations that languish unread — every proposal must be grounded in rigorous models, validated assumptions, and actionable decision paths.
  • Working at a steady, predictable pace — this environment is deliberately fast‑moving, AI‑driven, and ambiguity‑heavy.
  • Waiting for approval to challenge thinking — you're expected to interrogate strategy and sharpen it proactively.
Division CFO Key Responsibilities

Design and operate an AI‑enabled financial infrastructure that informs critical investment choices, sustainable expansion, and operational precision across rapidly growing SaaS and education enterprises.

Basic Requirements
  • 5+ years in PE, IB, or Big 4 M&A/Corporate Finance (excluding audit/tax), including hands‑on deal modeling, client/board engagement, and investment evaluation.
  • CPA, ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA, or MBA, with strong command of US GAAP/IFRS and consolidated financial statements.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP).
  • Proven application of AI to support modeling, scenario design, research, memo creation, and process automation.
  • History of delivering financial models and executive‑level guidance with pace, refinement, and strategic insight.
  • Based in UTC‑8 to UTC+3 time zones.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
  • Familiarity with SaaS or EdTech operating models.
  • Background in designing financial systems, not solely working within existing frameworks.
  • Experience in fluid, founder‑driven settings with shifting priorities and direct communication norms.
