Job summary

Plexus Corp. in Penang is seeking a Director - Supplier Quality to lead the Supplier Quality function and shape the organization in alignment with Plexus strategy.

The role partners with Sourcing to harmonize the Supplier Quality Strategy across the Supply Chain while ensuring compliance with QMS requirements. The ideal candidate will own the QMS components, oversee supplier quality processes and tools, and drive improvement through KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; 20+ years of related experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with senior-level stakeholders.
• Ability to develop strategy and deliver results.
• Ability to interact with executive management.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, TL9000, ISO 13485 and FDA GMP Quality System requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directing the Supplier Quality Function owning the Supplier Quality Strategy and employing it to add value to the Supply Chain while maintaining compliance.
• Takes ownership of portions of the QMS leading a team responsible for supplier quality processes and tools across multiple regulated industries; manages receiving inspection and non-conforming material handling.
• Directs the Plexus Counterfeit Controls and Mitigation Program including policy, processes and templates to maximize authentic material and detect suspect material entering the supply chain.
• Develops and applies KPIs/metrics to measure compliance and drive operational rigor in the Supplier Quality Function.

Purpose Statement:

The Director - Supplier Quality is the functional leader for Supplier Quality. As a key member of the Quality Leadership team, the role will shape the organization structure and support turning Plexus strategy into action while maintaining compliance and adding value to the Supply Chain. As a business partner, the role works closely with the Sourcing Function to harmonize the Supplier Quality Strategy in direct support of the Plexus Supply Chain.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Directing the Supplier Quality Function owning the Supplier Quality Strategy and employing it in such a way to add value to the Supply Chain while maintaining compliance to the Plexus Quality Management System (QMS).
• Takes ownership of portions of the QMS leading a team responsible for supplier quality processes and tools spanning multiple highly regulated industries using a risk based approach. In addition owns receiving inspection processes and the software system managing supplier quality processes, receiving inspection and non-conforming material management supporting all Plexus sites. Ownership includes developing and applying key process indicators and metrics to measure compliance and drive operational rigor throughout the Supplier Quality Function.
• Directs the Plexus Counterfeit Controls and Mitigation Program including the Policy, Processes and templates used to maximize authentic material, detect suspect material entering the supply chain and maintaining strict adherence to industry standards.
• Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 20 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact, influence and build consensus with internal and external senior-level decision makers.
• Must have strong presentation skills and the ability to represent the organization in a professional manner.
• Advanced decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to think conceptually, develop strategy and deliver results.
• Employee must be an independent self-starter with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, especially executive management.
• Must have good organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environment and the ability to work with cross-organizational teams.
• Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, TL9000, ISO 13485 and FDA GMP Quality System requirements required for this role.
