Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking a proactive Strategic Engagements professional to drive SME banking partnerships and events. You will identify and cultivate relationships with government bodies, industry groups, and corporate partners to expand SME client reach, while coordinating co-branded initiatives and measurable outcomes.

The role emphasizes collaboration across sales, marketing, product, and operations to deliver impactful partnerships and engaging events within Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience in partnership development, business development, account management, or ecosystem engagement.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience planning and executing corporate events, industry forums, or marketing initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills to track performance metrics and derive insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute partnership strategies to drive SME acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with key ecosystem partners, including government agencies, industry associations, chambers of commerce, Corporate Service Providers, and SME solution providers such as accounting, HR, ERP, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements, collaboration frameworks, and joint marketing initiatives that deliver mutual value.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategic partnerships using key metrics such as lead generation, conversion rates, engagement levels, and portfolio impact.
  • Build and maintain strong partner relationships through regular business reviews, joint planning sessions, and cross-promotional activities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure successful partnership execution.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events, webinars, roadshows, networking sessions, and industry engagements to support business objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end event delivery, including budgeting, vendor management, logistics, stakeholder coordination, and post-event reporting.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop co-branded events and campaigns that enhance SME outreach and engagement.
  • Measure event effectiveness and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
