Director, Process Universe (Malaysia/India)

The Process Excellence team, part of Group Transformation Office, requires a Process Universe Senior Analyst, to partner across the organisation, to maintain the Process Universe for the Bank, raise awareness how processes should be documented and perform quality assurance to drive consistency and quality of the information.

Underpinned by our ambition and mission to standardise, simplify, and digitise the bank, the Process Excellence (PE) team plays an essential role in providing PE foundational capabilities across the enterprise, to identify challenges and opportunities, raise our transformation ambition and support relevant delivery activities relating to process optimisation (waste elimination, process simplification, digitisation and automation).

What will you do?

The role holder will partner with the PE team, Global Process Owners / Product Owners /Domain Owners, and other Process Universe Champions across Businesses, Control & Assurance and Enabling processes to define how process universe should be constructed and documented (at all levels of the process taxonomy), provide advice and guidance, conduct quality assurance and maintain the information in the Bank’s system considered the golden source.

  • Maintain relevant information to articulate how the Bank operates (Bank on a page) at the highest levels (down to Level 3) and support Businesses and Functions who document the process activities and maps (down to Level 5), following guidance provided by the PE team
  • Responsible for maintaining completeness, accuracy and quality of the information to drive consistency and adherence to agreed principles
  • Work with Global Process Owners, Domain Owners, Product Owners and Process Universe Champions to educate this community, ensure information is captured appropriately
  • Run change request process to maintain integrity of the process taxonomy, allowing to make changes where appropriate while maintaining the integrity of the PU structure
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and participants to make changes, where appropriate
  • Develop and support the production and embedding of the process universe taxonomy and associated standards
  • Champion and act as a role model of the Group’s values and culture. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with relevant partners
  • Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of process excellence, client and colleague centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring everyone in the Bank are drivers and owners of outcomes
  • Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to team members and Community of Practice participants. Set the appropriate tone and expectations for the wider team
  • Identify, assess, monitor risks relating to the set up and running of these capabilities. Support the development and implementation of controls and mitigation plans

  • Minimum 15 years in the project / programme / portfolio management space, supporting or delivering mid-large size, complex initiatives, ideally in the financial services industry
  • Experience in building and running Knowledge Hub frameworks effectively and efficiently
  • Deep understanding of training framework, certifications and partnership with HR Learning & Development teams
  • Knowledge of “SCB ways”
  • Proven experience in the learning and development of teams, has a genuine interested in disseminating knowledge and skills among colleagues, derives satisfaction from other’s learning and improving their skills
  • Strong influencing and communication skills – oral, written and presentation. Proven success in communicating technical information in a simple way.
