Job description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead and manage overall plant operations for a manufacturing facility in Johor. This role is responsible for taking full ownership of plant performance, operational stability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Plant & Operations Management
  • Take full responsibility for end-to-end plant operations, including production, safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Ensure smooth daily manufacturing operations and stable plant performance
  • Act as the main escalation point for operational issues, breakdowns, and emergencies
  • Drive operational discipline, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Production & Workforce Leadership
  • Lead a manufacturing workforce of 50 - 70 headcounts
  • Manage production activities through the Production Managers
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met
  • Improve productivity, manpower planning, and shopfloor effectiveness
Cross-Functional Oversight
  • Provide operational leadership and coordination across on-site functions including:
  • Supply Chain & Logistics
  • HR & Finance
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
  • Report operational performance, risks, and improvement plans to the senior management
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to support business and operational objectives
  • Support audits, compliance, and internal controls as required
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical fields
  • 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations
  • Strong hands-on operational leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and handle “firefighting” situations effectively
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. English is necessary. Mandarin is a plus.
