DHL Supply Chain in Malaysia seeks an experienced Data Platform Lead to define and execute the APAC data platform strategy. You will manage data ingestion, governance, and the full data product lifecycle while collaborating with Global teams and country teams.

You will lead a small team, ensure data quality, and enable stakeholder alignment across business and IT to drive efficiency and value.

Competenze

• 8+ years in data management, engineering, or platform leadership.
• 3+ years in a regional or global role is required.
• Proven enterprise-scale cloud/hybrid data platforms and governance experience.
• Strong Databricks skills with knowledge of Azure data tools and data modeling.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, lineage, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Data Platform Strategy: Define and execute the APAC data platform strategy aligned with AI & Analytics priorities, driving scalability, platform consolidation, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Platform Ownership: Manage demand intake, prioritize data ingestion and platform enhancements, and collaborate with Global teams and ITS to ensure alignment with business needs and global standards.
• Technical Solutions: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, review architecture and data flows, and provide hands-on support for pipelines, integrations, pilots, and POCs when required.
• Data Product Governance: Oversee the full data product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with global data models, governance standards, and evolving business requirements.
• Data Literacy & Enablement: Drive sandbox deployment, establish usage frameworks and governance guardrails, and support country upskilling and adoption of standard platforms.
• Data Management: Ensure data cataloguing, metadata quality, end-to-end lineage, and compliance with Operations Reference Data Standardization (ORDS).
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 2 FTEs, providing coaching, direction, and performance support.
• Stakeholder Management: Partner with business, IT, and Global Data Office stakeholders to resolve competing priorities, drive alignment, and deliver business outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years in data management, engineering, or platform leadership, including 3+ years in a regional or global role.
• Platform & Governance: Proven experience managing enterprise-scale cloud/hybrid data platforms, governance frameworks, and the full data product lifecycle.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced Databricks skills and strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, and data modeling (lakehouse, medallion, dimensional).
• Data Governance & Security: Hands-on experience with Purview, DataHub, metadata, lineage, data quality, access controls (RBAC, RLS), GDPR, and data compliance.
• Cost Optimization: Ability to monitor and optimize platform performance and costs.
• Leadership: Experience developing technical teams and driving data platform strategy across multiple countries.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and influencing skills, bridging technical teams, business leaders, IT, and global stakeholders.
• Mindset: Strategic, analytical, pragmatic, and action-oriented, with strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead change and continuous improvement.
