About the Role

Brooks Automation is a global leader in automation solutions for the semiconductor industry, with over 40 years of experience delivering precision robotics, integrated automation systems, and contamination control solutions worldwide. The company’s new greenfield manufacturing site in Johor Bahru (PasirGudang), Malaysia, is looking for a Director, Cost Accounting to lead financial and cost strategy for our expanding operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process excellence in company financial processes: design and monitor cost accounting policies and procedures, support audit requests and auditors, maintain effective controls, drive a timely monthly closing process, provide transparent and meaningful financial reporting, manage the standard costing system, oversee cycle counting and physical inventory programs, and continuously improve processes and systems.
• Act as a business partner to Operations leadership: support the financial and product cost planning processes for annual plans and monthly forecasts, interpret financial results for Operations leaders, deliver robust management reporting and decision‑support models, and lead future ERP implementations and M&A integrations related to cost accounting.
• Drive operational excellence worldwide: manage the delivery of cost accounting services from offshore shared‑service centers, ensure talent engagement and development, and act as a thought leader in designing controls, analytics, and decision‑support models to support global cost accounting initiatives.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant financial/accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing (semiconductor/Hip‑Tech/engineering) or publicly traded company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA qualification preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in operational planning and cost accounting.
• Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights to support decision‑making.
• Understanding of data structures and analytics, and ability to collaborate with business units and IS/IT to design effective systems and reporting.
• ERP systems experience is required; Oracle preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor cost accounting teams.

Work Location & Flexibility

Onsite – Johor Bahru (PasirGudang), Malaysia. Work arrangements may include a mix of in‑office and remote work depending on the nature of the role and business needs.
