Job summary

A leading media production company is seeking an individual to manage and optimize ingestion and post-production processes. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in production or broadcast engineering. Responsibilities include ensuring client orders are processed efficiently and maintaining high standards of quality control. Knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and understanding of digital formats are essential. The position is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in ingest/post‑production services.
  • Background in advertising or media AV support is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of broadcast file formats like MXF and MOV.

Responsibilities
  • To ensure client’s orders and material are processed ready for ingest, and communicate any problems/issues with the client effectively and in a timely manner. To assist clients with all aspects of their order or any queries they may have.
  • Ingesting material, to the highest quality, into the system ensuring high productivity at all times with a constant flow of ingestion.
  • FTP administration; Transcoding; QC and reporting; Digital File Reviewing and Ingest.
  • To ensure client’s orders and material are processed ready for ingest.
  • To constructively and proactively liaise within the team to ensure material is ingested and work is completed within SLA.
  • To communicate any problems/issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Fixing and creating broadcast compliant files for delivery using post‑production tools.
  • To constructively and proactively liaise within the Production team to ensure material is ingested and work is completed within timeframes, customers are advised and charged appropriately for fixes.
  • Maintain current clients & revenues by playing your part in ensuring the smooth running ingest, ad‑pro and maintaining the high standards of Quality Control and Customer Service.
  • Ensure low error rate – check material is available for ingestion within SLA.
  • Always work efficiently and effectively, using correct workflow and work procedures.
  • Testing end‑to‑end for TV or Broadcast products; reporting thoroughly back to agreed escalation routes.
  • In conjunction with Traffic, prioritise ingest tasks to meet SLA’s and customers’ requirements.
  • Executing the following tasks in a proficient manner: FTP and nVerge administration; transcoding; QC and reporting; digital file review and ingest; various post‑production techniques; other tasks that should become relevant to the role from time to time.
  • Ensure you have the information and materials to complete the task to a satisfactory quality within the given timeframe, if not then you must raise this with Traffic at the.
  • Use all the technical tools efficiently and consistently and maintain an organised, structured and repeatable workflow.
  • Follow ingest standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate promptly and courteously in a helpful and professional manner to Traffic or other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that you maintain a customer‑focused orientation at all times.
  • Issue a QC report for each clock on each order.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining checklists and SOP’s.
  • File a fault report for any software or hardware deficiency.
  • Understand that the ingest department is part of a bigger chain of activities and some flexibility may be needed to aid other departments in meeting their own targets, whilst not compromising the above. Be a part of a scheduled shift rotation.

Operational Efficiency

Requirements
Skills & Experience Needed
  • Ideally you would currently be working in production, broadcast engineering, video editing or related industries.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in ingest / post‑production services.
  • A background in advertising or media AV support is as knowledge of broadcaster, advertising and post house operations or workflow is a advantage.
  • Good knowledge of digital / social and online formats (MP4, WebM etc.).
  • Good knowledge of broadcast file formats; MXF, MOV etc.
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Premiere.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Audition and audio editing software.
  • Good knowledge of transcoders and file creation techniques.
  • Good understanding of containers, codecs and encoding techniques.
  • Good knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop (optional).
  • Editing toolkits, updating graphics, text layers.
  • Good knowledge of Adobe ecosystem.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the country of employment.
