Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking a detail-oriented Designer/CAD Drafter to support mechanical design and documentation in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru. You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, apply GD&T, generate BOMs, and release packages through Agile PLM.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of CAD experience, proficiency in Creo Parametric (preferred) or SolidWorks (acceptable), and strong attention to detail. Onsite role with collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a CAD Drafter or Designer.
• Proficient in Creo Parametric (preferred) or SolidWorks (acceptable).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawing practices.
• Experience creating detailed part drawings and complex assemblies.
• Familiarity with Agile PLM (or similar PLM systems).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Apply GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14 standards.
• Generate exploded views and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Prepare drawing packages for manufacturing, inspection, and assembly.
• Document and release drawings in Agile PLM; support ECRs/ECOs.
• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain drafting standards and procedures; identify and resolve issues.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Designer/CAD Drafter to support mechanical design and documentation activities. This role works closely with a Principal Engineer to interpret design intent, understand technical requirements, and translate concepts into accurate 3D models and engineering drawings. This position is responsible for creating and detailing parts and assemblies, applying proper Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), generating exploded views, and releasing documentation through Agile PLM.
