Job Description
  • Oversee the entire MEP design process from concept to detailed design and construction documentation.
  • Review and approve design submissions from consultants for compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Ensure integration of mechanical and electrical systems with architectural and structural designs.
  • Implement value engineering and sustainability principles (e.g., energy efficiency, LEED compliance).
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client, design consultants, and contractors for all MEP design matters.
  • Prepare and present design progress reports to the client and PMC leadership.
  • Ensure designs meet local building codes, university and international best practices.
  • Validate design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Monitor adherence to safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
  • Develop and maintain design schedules aligned with the overall project master plan.
  • Manage design deliverables and ensure timely submission.
  • Provide technical guidance during tendering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, and respond to RFIs related to MEP design.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 10–15 years in MEP design and project management, with experience in large-scale institutional projects.
  • Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple design packages and consultants simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
