Job description

Maneki Signage is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Designer to guide our remote design team. If you are a design leader who can blend creative vision with deep technical fabrication understanding to deliver complex, high-quality signage and custom metalwork, this is your opportunity.

The Role: Beyond Aesthetics

This is a senior, hands‑on management role. You won't just be overseeing designs—you'll be the technical backbone and creative engine of the department.

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

• Creative & Technical Mastery: Set the gold standard for design quality, ensuring excellence in Layout, Typography, and Colour Theory.

• Fabrication Expert: Apply deep Fabrication Understanding to design, prepare, and oversee files for both standard signs and complex, non‑standard projects (e.g., exhibition booths, custom metalwork).

• Remote Team Leadership: Successfully Manage a Remote Team, optimizing workflows, assigning tasks, and ensuring all projects are processed accurately and on time.

• Client & Project Management: Handle project management, manage customer expectations, and communicate design specifications to both the Sales and Production teams.

• File Precision: Oversee the creation of all final artwork (FA files), CNC cutting files, and technical drawings for permits.

You Must Have:

• Minimum 5+ years of design experience with 2+ years in a leadership/management role, ideally in the signage, exhibition, or architectural fabrication industry.

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. CAD software (Fusion 360, AutoCAD) is a strong plus.

• Proven ability to translate client briefs into compelling visual concepts using Moodboards.

• Exceptional organizational skills and experience running a high‑volume, detail‑oriented design operation.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Reliable remote setup (personal computer and high‑speed internet access).

Performance-Driven Remuneration

We offer a high‑value compensation structure that directly rewards your expertise and contribution to our success. The estimated on‑target earning range for this role is RM 6 000 to RM 10 000 per month. A basic salary, commission for winning tenders and profit sharing.
