To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and team-orientated individual for our division Plasma Control Technologies at the Penang site as a

Design Engineer

We develop and produce innovative high-tech components and systems based on X-ray and radio-frequency technology. Our developments make an important contribution to safer, more efficient and more sustainable production, mobility and communication.

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You Will Do
  • Collaboration with suppliers to provide technical support to Purchasing for the transfer to HVM site
  • Coordination and definition of drawing-related requirements with existing and new suppliers
  • Technical consulting of suppliers to ensure standards-compliant implementation of requirements for vacuum capacitors
  • Conducting FAI approvals as R&D representative
  • Interface for knowledge transfer from the supplier via Comet Purchasing to the development department for vacuum capacitors
  • Support of the SCM department in the selection of suppliers regarding technical feasibility, quality, and cost
  • Close cooperation with internal departments (e.g., Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing) to ensure a smooth FAI process and its approval by R&D
What You Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University/University of Applied Sciences)
  • The role requires a strong mechanical engineering background with solid proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), technical drawing and drafting standards, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). The incumbent must possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the capability to collaborate effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Several years of experience in design/development and creation and documentation of technical drawings
  • Very good knowledge of CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and confident use of ERP systems desirable
  • Experience in working with international suppliers desirable
