Job description

Responsibilities

• Design and Conceptualization: Understanding project specification to create scalable and repeatable designs for manufacturing in factory setting and the subsequent assembling on site. This includes customizing layouts, materials and finishes to suit special circumstances.
• Collaboration: Collaborating with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers to ensure seamless integration of design and construction.
• Commercialization: Join business development team with design proposals and project tendering, ensuring it on time and compliance.
• Cost Agenda: Collaborate with product costing and strategic sourcing teams to provide healthy margin for each project.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring the designs comply with building codes, zoning laws, safety requirements and environment regulations, and liaising with local authorities for necessary permit and approval of modular structures.
• Sustainability and Efficiency: Prioritizing sustainable & energy-efficient design practices to minimize environmental impacts while optimizing cost and construction timelines.
• Coordination: Coordinating with production team to streamline manufacturing process commensurate with designs.
• Project Management: Leading and coordinating with clients, designers, engineers, contractors and suppliers to ensure project is on track in terms of timelines, budgets, scope and risk.
• Quality Assurance: Managing the development of prototype of modular units and overseeing quality control of modular units to meet intended design specifications.
• Research & Development: Exploring new construction methods, materials, and technologies to improve process, reduce costs and enhance the final product.
• Analysis: Addressing design challenges and room of improvement for future project.
• Develop Competencies: Set-up and grow local design function, lead and train team members to be competent with modular construction architecture.

Qualifications

• Registered Architect with LAM and PAM
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience

• Strong coordination and modular design experience
