JOB PURPOSE
The Deputy Manager, Operations Compliance (Quality Management) supports the Head of Section in overseeing regulatory and legal compliance across the Operations Division. The role assists in ensuring that operational processes, products, and documentation comply with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and internal governance requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Legal Compliance
- Reporting to the Quality Management Manager and the Head of Operations Compliance, this role leads, develops, and oversees the unit to ensure strong and consistent delivery of quality and compliance functions.
- Ensure that operational processes are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, rules & regulations, standards, and internal policies.
- Monitor and assess regulatory developments and industry initiatives and provide timely advisory on implications and recommended responses to Management.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on legal/regulatory changes and updates to compliance guidelines.
- Produce insightful reports on regulatory requirements and developments to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and maintain compliance tools such as checklists, and review compliance reports to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Review legal and operational documents to assess their effectiveness in safeguarding organisational interests and ensuring regulatory adherence.
- Analyse data and findings to identify gaps in internal controls, inefficiencies, duplication of effort, non-compliance, or potential fraud, and recommend corrective actions.
2. Maintenance & Audit ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
- Lead and oversee the planning, coordination and continual maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent compliance across all relevant departments.
- Ensure QMS documentation, including procedures, manuals, and records, is accurate, updated, and aligned with ISO requirements.
- Coordinate periodic reviews of quality policies, standard operating procedures, and process controls.
- Provide expert guidance to departments on compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
3. Internal Award Evaluation & Event Management
- Oversee the end-to-end award evaluation process - ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance with established criteria, as well as the planning and execution of the award ceremony, including logistics, stakeholder coordination, and event delivery.
- Drive continuous improvements to enhance both the evaluation process and the overall award experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Malaysian citizen.
- Pass Malay language including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
- Possess a bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or other related disciplines recognised by the Malaysian Government.
- Professional certifications such as Certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, Certified Compliance Officer are an added advantage.
- Minimum 7-9 years working experience in compliance officer role and have good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures, preferably within the financial services environment.
- Experience of developing and managing compliance monitoring programmes.
- High integrity with strong analytical, result-oriented, process-driven, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team member.
- Excellent report-writing, communication and presentation skills with good interpersonal skills, able to work in a diverse environment and build good working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Proficient in both oral and written Malay and English language and able to communicate and interact well with peers, higher management and external parties.
