Job summary

Flex is seeking a Debug Engineer in Bukit Minyak, Penang, to support teams building world-class products. You will evaluate test data, provide technical repair guidance, and drive yield improvements through root-cause investigations.

You will train floor staff on test hardware and software and coordinate corrective actions across engineering and quality teams. Ideal candidates have a degree in a related discipline and at least four years of related experience, with strong skills in RF, analog,

Qualifications

• Requires a Degree in related discipline or equivalent, with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Must have strong Debug troubleshooting skills across RF, analog, digital and DC instruments.
• Experience performing PCBA failure analysis on failed units and customer returns.
• Ability to train floor support, debug technicians and test operators on hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Understand test conditions, sequences and phases for tests.
• Prepare technical summary reports for engineering and management.
• Interface with engineering to resolve testing problems and data interpretation.
• Use software/hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems.
• Assign defect causes to sources and generate corrective reports.
• Coach floor staff on problem-solving techniques and testing procedures.
• Investigate root causes of test yield problems and coordinate corrective actions.
• Evaluate and configure FPGA and BGA hardware for tests.
• Resolve failures from origin to detection and document findings.
• Interpret test data and product performance with Failure Analysis evidence.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Debug Engineer located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

Responsible for evaluating and interpreting test data and product performance, providing technical advice for repair. Plays a crucial role in resolving yield problems by conducting root cause examination, coordinating corrective action measures, and monitoring improvements. Involved in training and instructing floor support, debug technicians, and test operators on test hardware and software, as well as ensuring proper follow-up of problem solutions. These activities contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing process.

What a typical day looks like:

• Understands conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
• Prepares technical summary reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
• Interfaces and confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.
• Uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software for examination purpose.
• Allocates defect causes to the various sources e.g. process, material, and prepares reports for follow other involved like quality, purchasing, SQA.
• Interferes with floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as proper problem solving techniques.
• Resolves test yield problems by performing investigation of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
• Evaluate and configure digital circuits using Field programable Gate Array (FPGA) and Ball Grid Array (BGA).
• Resolves failures from Point of origin / point of detection.
• Evaluates and interprets test data and product performance with proper evidence of design related Failure Analysis Report.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Possesses a Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of working experience in the related field is required
• Require good Debug trouble-shooting knowledge and skill in RF, Analog, Digital and DC instruments.
• Perform in-depth PCBA Failure Analysis on failed unit and customer return
