Title: Dean of Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology

Reporting to: Vice Chancellor

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the faculty, ensuring the highest level of academic quality and integrity.
  • Oversee curriculum development, program assessment, and faculty recruitment, ensuring alignment with industry trends and standards.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes student success, faculty development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, and other academic institutions to enhance research opportunities and promote technology transfer.
  • Engage in resource allocation to support the faculty's growth, research initiatives, and student scholarships.
  • Ensure a high level of engagement and satisfaction among students and staff.
  • Ensure graduates are well prepared to succeed in their chosen careers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A terminal degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience in an academic setting, preferably at the level of department chair or higher.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of information technology and computing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, industry partners, and alumni.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage budgets, and drive organizational change.
